My Baby's a Big Boy Now!

Today I sadly replaced Sebastian's "baby" crib with a "big boy" bed. We had been talking about it for several weeks, getting Sebastian ready for the transition. He was so excited to see his room this afternoon...a new big boy bed and Cars bedding (his favorite thing). I really, really, really hate "themed" rooms for the simple fact that next week the fad may fade and we're stuck with all the accessories. However, Sebastian pulled at that string wrapped around my finger and ended up winning the battle. The Cars theme caught his eye and all he could do was repeat "I want dis on my bed, I want dis on by bed, I want dis on my bed!" His toddler bed and all the Cars accessories were so cheap that I couldn't resist making him the happiest little boy in all the land. And...maybe when we get adjusted to the big boy bed and move on to a full bed, we'll be past the Cars era...we can only dream ;)

As I write this, he is fast asleep on his new bed. I am so ECSTATIC AND YET COMPLETELY SADDENED that he didn't have one single reservation about climbing in and settling down in his new bed. We kept our bedtime routine as normal as possible, climbing into some cozy jammies, reading a book and walking through the house making sure all the lights were out. Sebastian turned on his humidifier and turned out his bedroom light and into bed he climbed. We kissed & said goodnight, I tucked the covers all around and turned on his GloBear. I said "I love you my Bastian, sweet dreams!" and the moment I wait for every night, "I love you Mommy!". He did ask for a cup of water tonight, which I quickly agreed, but after about 10 minutes of some toddler jabber to his nighttime stuffed friends, silence fell and he was off in dreamland. My heart is so full that I can't even finds the words!!!

My Reason to Blog...

Sebastian...the absolute love of my life. He is our currently only child. He is almost 3 and is as independent as they come. He loves washing his hands & swinging. He would live outside if he could. He's developing a love of thunderstorms from his Mama & Daddy. He looks adorable in flip flops. He loves talking on the phone. He has gorgeous blue eyes & dashing dimples. His favorite thing to eat is fruit or Starbursts. He sleeps with his blue snowman blanket wankwie. He loves to be tickled or chased. He loves his Mama & Daddy more than anything!
