Mean Mama

I LOVE this picture, thought it deserved a 2nd post!
He's so dang handsome--I just can't stand it. I love my cutie pie

David says I should not post what I'm about to post. He thinks that it is embarrassing and will be humiliating one day for our sweet little man. He says that Sebastian will hate me when he's a teenager [but his girlfriend won't have to wait that long because his future mother-in-law already gets tons of pics to show her--shame on me & Sarah]. This will probably be true at some point in the future; however, he'll grow into an adult one day and he'll be a Daddy to his own beautiful, amazing, perfect little boy or girl and it doesn't matter what his child does, it will be fascinating to him and he'll want to share it with the world...just like I want to do. What is this exciting, embarassing thing that I want to share with the world??

Day 4 of our Potty Training Extravaganza: Today is the 2nd full day (not including nights) of being accident-free. We've been going to the potty like a little pro. I'm still working on getting him to "tell me" that he has to go potty, instead of me taking him and saying it's time to potty when it's been awhile. That will come with time as I learn to let him do things on his own, but we are both doing great. I have huge faith in completing it this time! Everyone say, "YAY Sebastian!!"
Oh, another wonderful thing Sebastian did this weekend that made me so proud...everytime he sneezed at the BYM, he covered his little mouth. Yeah, I know, that is a pretty lame thing to be excited about, but nonetheless, I was pretty pleased. That's a big feat for a little kid and with germs & bacteria running rampant everywhere, this is one thing that I'm happy that he's finally picked up. It's the little things in life, people! Remember that!!

Birthday Party Blizzard

Kinlee & Dyson had a wonderful birthday party at the BYM today. I can't believe how big they are now...I miss my sweet little niece & nephew dressed in their zippered footy pj's who used to crawl all over David and me. All the kids (and adults) had a blast. Sebastian loved the tractor most of all. I couldn't drag him away. I liked the caves and slides and watching all the kiddos run wild through the entire museum. The little ones were excellent about keeping track of their "buddy" and we made home today with everyone in tact. Kinlee & Dyson each had their own cake of choice (Kinlee picked out Tinkerbell & Dyson Cars) and we sang Happy Birthday to each separately, which they thoroughly enjoyed. It's very important that they be treated as individuals and not as a "set". It was already snowing when we arrived at the museum, but it was really getting with it when we left. The snow was beautiful and the most important thing was that it wasn't atop 4" of ice.

Kinlee took Sebastian under her wing

They are so sweet

How We Roll

You know you got it made,
when you drop an escalade
for the drop top
Iced out, rocks hot
Droppin dollars, ladies hollar Heyyy
Gotta get that greeeeeeennnnnn!

You know you got it made,
when they settin a parade
when you drop down
write a check in town, all just for one dayyy
Gotta get that greeeeeeeennnnn!

These are the lyrics to the song on Sebastian's F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E movie right now, "Alvin & the Chipmunks"! These lyrics are burned into my brain. He wants to watch it right before bed and he'll fall asleep to this song...they repeat the lyrics over & over [& over & over & over] until you select something from the menu. I can't rid myself of this earworm, so I though I would share it with someone else. ENJOY!!!

Happy Thursday, Thank Goodness It's Almost Friday Post

I was so happy to get on my blog this evening and find that Sarah has a new post. Go Sarah! And I'm very happy to hear that Ms Ady is feeling better today. I hate to hear about kiddos being sick...it makes me very sad and I do not like to be sad!!

I'm sure my whole sleugh of followers [sadly, only 1] was highly saddened by my non-post yesterday. Yesterday was my day off {**yay**} and we had lunch at my mother-in-law's. She is feeling much better since she had the pacemaker put it. Apparently, that was exactly what she needed. She was excited to cook dinner for us and was thrilled to get to spend some time with Sebastian. Then we made a trip to the Bluff to buy birthday presents for the twins and to pick up my phone. Sebastian fell asleep on the way home and he slept until almost 7 p.m. I was on the phone to AT&T Customer Service for who only knows how long (had the phone on speakerphone while I cooked supper) and was trying to get my sleepyhead up. Supper was late and that put my whole night behind. By the time I got everything cleaned up, spent time with Sebastian before getting him back into bed for the night, catching up on my Y&R and learning (playing) with my new phone, it was waaay past my bedtime.

OH, I forgot my lovely bathtime story. So, Sebastian is taking a bath...a bubble bath. When all the bubbles had departed, he decided he would make his own. And, my first thought was, "well who could blame him, no one likes fizzled out bubbles", until I noticed what he used to make more bubbles. I'm sure in his 2-year-old little mind he needed 2 full bottles of shampoo because 1 bottle just didn't make enough foam. He couldn't figure out why he couldn't get it to foam because he barely turned the water on so I wouldn't hear the water running. (This really is quite clever on his part.) However, I heard the trickling water and as I walked by...there went a huge slosh in the floor. He tried to pour his bucket of water into a small little cup on the side of the tub. Needless to say, as I was soaking water up out of floor (that was surprising slippery and leaving a bubbly film) I noticed the two very empty bottles of shampoo. I believe I could have lathered & bathed every kid in the county with as much soap was in the bathtub.

On a lighter note, we made it to the Bluff, Wal-Mart and the UPS center with zero potty issues. Today was Sebastian's 3rd full day in his big boy undies. He doesn't like it at first and wants his "biper", but he is pretty good. He has had a few accidents, but all-in-all, is doing really good and we are really sticking to it this time. Wish us luck!

Sorry I didn't have anything more interesting...no quote of the day, picture of the day or some great new product or idea. Just boring ol' me! I'm gonna close now as I have much to do tonight, but I will leave you with my very favorite thing in this world (wet undies, 2 feet of shampoo and all)!!

Happy Birthday Kinlee & Dyson!

Sebastian sends a shout-out to his favorite set of twin cousins, Dyson & Kinlee. They are 4 today. Happy Birthday! We can't wait for the exciting birthday party this weekend at the Bootheel Youth Museum. That will be so fun (for the kids, of course lol)!

Kinlee & Dyson, 02/24/05 @ the hospital

First Halloween in the octopus costumes from Baby Style
& in this past year's costumes as swashbucklin' pirates
Dyson is riot and so much fun! He looks exactly like his Daddy. He has a few of the cutest little freckles which I just adore. He is going to be a heartbreaker one day. He can be completely sweet and loving and be an unruly terror in the same breath. He is all boy...dirt, trucks, cowboy boots, destruction...are some of his favorite things. He is the big baby of two, in that he is whiny and uncooperative, but we wouldn't trade him for anything.
Kinlee on the other hand is absolutely all girl! Petite, prissy and as dramatic as they come. She has that beautiful blonde hair that woman spend tons of $$$ trying to get. She loves PINK, dolls, playing dress-up and being the center of attention...to name a few. She is so sensitive and gets her feelings hurt easily. When she gets upset, she completely by-passes whiney and goes into full blown meltdown hysteria. It's hilarious!
She & Dyson do not look at all alike to me. In fact, and most people agree, that she & Sebastian are more likely to be twins than she & Dyson. I sometimes believe that Stephanie was given my child by mistake haha! Judge for yourself!!

Happy Birthday Babies, Aunt Bebe & Uncle David loves you!!

Unacceptable Parcel Service

I am so stinkin' peeved right now at UPS. Ordered my phone, was supposed to be here TODAY, got home, NO PHONE. So, I checked the tracking number and there was an "exception" posted stating that the receiver (me) had moved (I did not). So, I called AT&T and they called UPS because I have NOT moved (from the address that they had on file). They tried to deliver my phone to ### W Name St instead of ### E Name St where I do live and so UPS decided to deliver it to their drop off point 35miles away. AND to top it off, they told AT&T that they would NOT redeliver and it would set at the drop off point for 5 days after which they would send it back to AT&T. AND it can only be picked up from 4:30-5:30pm Monday - Friday, which excludes normal work schedules. The lady at AT&T profusely apologized and she was quite kind. The UPS dude was a complete jerk. SO, that was my afternoon. Now, I have to drive 35miles to go get my phone (thankfully tomorrow is my day off) or wait 5 days for it to set at the drop off point EVEN THOUGH UPS KNOWS WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO, and THEN wait for it to go back to AT&T, THEN wait for AT&T to resend it and HOPE that UPS doesn't screw it up again. Next time I'll ask for FedEX!! [Yes, today I am stereotyping all of UPS because of one huge dorkass guy. I'm sure I'll be over it tomorrow!!]

Kanonball Run!

I was chatting with my very good friend, Sarah, tonight about how sick her little girl is [age 7]. She has the flu and is feeling terribly bad. Say a pray for her & send her your well wishes. I really hope that her other two kiddos, Ava 3 and Kanon less than 1, do not get sick.

Well, Sarah, is a photographer whom I adore! She takes the most amazing pics...some of my favorite, of course, are of my dashing little dude - but the rest are of her dashing little dude Kanon. [she's a photographer, uses a Canon...Canon/Kanon...no, that is not a coincidence folks...quite clever and very creative...I love it!]

Kanon is almost 1! He is so handsome and everytime I see him he has a big, bright smile. And, he's always dressed so darn cute...hopefully, I'll be stealing all his baby clothes for another bright eyed boy of my own...someday...many many many more months down the road. I think he looks just like Sarah and, at times, his sisters. I can't wait until she has another. Although, I don't know how she'll ever love another boy as much as him...but she will! [Assuming she has another child and assuming it is another boy...hahaha, yeah I'm jumping the gun a little!!]

Anyhow, here he is...the adorable, long-awaited boy of Sarah's dreams...about to be ONE!

Some oldies but goodies [they're obviously not that old as he is not even 1-year-old yet]!

Newborn Kanon...so precious!

Not Me! Monday

OK! I found this awesome blog that I am completely addicted to now http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. OMG MckMama is hilarious and I am now officially obsessed. Not Me! Monday was created as a weekly confessional for our (im)perfections, because aren't we all (im)perfect!?! So, this is my very first edition of MckMama's blogwide (sure that's a word) confessional...Not Me! Monday!!

So, here it is...(drumroll please)

I am not blogging about all my personal deficiencies while Sebastian is watching tv and I am supposed to be cooking a well-balanced, nourishing dinner after working 10-hours today. AND I am most certainly NOT going to feed him a tv dinner that I just put in the microwave.

I did not stand in front of the bathroom towel closet this a.m. for a good five minutes thinking about what I was going to get out. I surely am not absent-minded enough to forget that I needed a "towel" out of the "towel" closet where I keep only the "towels". That was [ahem] not me.

I most certainly did not deny Sebastian a chocolate cookie for breakfast yesterday morning and then eat (by myself) 1/2 the dozen + one very large cream cheese brownie and tall glass of milk...chocolate. Ugh!

Sebastian was sitting in his bedroom watching Alvin & the Chipmunks for the gazillionth time this week, eating puffcorn. He had a small bowl, which I did not refill all 5 times that he asked for more "puffs" because I was too busy to argue with him on what is an acceptable sized snack.

Oh, this is a good one!! I did NOT fax a document to myself today...not once, not twice, especially not three times. It must not have been Monday ALL DAY!

I have not been so captivated with MckMama's blog that I have not almost read a whole 2+ years worth of posts in one day. Nope, not me!

Last week as we were getting ready for our photo shoot that wasn't to be, I did not try to catch Sebastian calling the President "Obamamama" on video for almost an hour with about 25 video clips. And, when he got completely annoyed with me and had a meltdown, I did not capture his adorable little photograph & post it on my desktop. That would be totally bizarre and I would not do something like that.

Scratch that previous post about the tv dinner. I did not let him have Eggo's for supper. And I am not thinking that Eggo's sound pretty good.

I do not still have a very large blow up toy in my living room floor from Christmas [with a slide & ball pit] that Sebastian has half deflated. And we do not keeping kicking it from one side of the room to the other because we are too busy/lazy to take it down.

So, I finally broke down and told daycare today that we are officially starting the Big Boy underwear tomorrow. I have not been avoiding the issue of potty training because I want to keep my Big Boy a Baby Boy. And, I definitely have not been avoiding it because potty training is a nightmare I was just hoping would take care of itself! I do not live in fantasy land where 2-year-old toddlers miraculously potty train themselves. That is ridiculous! [Oh what a wonderful place it would be!!]

WOW! This has been so exhilarating that I may need a Not Me! Tuesday...Wednesday...Thursday...you get the point.

His favorite thing to eat is fruit or Starbursts. He sleeps with his blue snowman blanket wankwie. He loves to be tickled or chased. He loves his Mama & Daddy more than anything!
