One Year Checkup
Today was Sebastian's one year checkup and (dum dum dum) immunizations. Dr Dye was backed up with patients this afternoon so we waitly quietly in the waiting room. Sebastian was a very good boy and the most well-behaved munchkin there. I was so proud. Sebastian finally got a room and we got weighed and measured. Sebastian weighs in at 24lbs, down a pound from our last visit and 31 1/2" tall, which is a whole inch more than last time. He is a healthy little kiddo. Sebastian strutted his stuff all over Dr. Dye's office, but yet as soon as he hits the floor at home...down on his hands and knees he goes....
Here's Sebastian and Dr. Dye during his exam
Anyway, he took his shots like a little man. The first one he puckered up but calmed down quickly, the 2nd was a little worse, but the third was a little hard to take. He looked at me as if to say, "What the hell are you letting them do to me?". He got a sucker afterwards, so all was well with the world again. We headed down to the lab and Sebastian trotted around all over like it was a huge playground until they called him for his lead screening. He was royally pissed at April, who was the lab tech (she went to school with Mommy) and the sticker she tried to give him was no concilation. He was very upset over the finger prick and he cried and jabbered on all the way out to the car. The lady in the lobby said that was saddest sob story she ever heard. Really it was...he told anyone that would listen about how torturous they are and would hold up his bandaged finger for proof.
On a lighter note, Sebastian was playing in the floor with his Daddy last night and Daddy sneezed really loud. It startled Sebastian a little and he jumped but then he about fell over in the floor laughing at him. It was so hilarious. Then David starting fake sneezing and Sebastian would just laugh hysterical. I caught part of it on video, but by then he was getting bored with Daddy's fake sneezing, but here it is...
